Appley and spicy on the nose, it is quite full-bodied on the palate with a delightful savoury touch. Minerality is also present - a result of the Pinot Blanc-friendly sandstone soils in which the grapes are grown.

Villa Wolf

Founded in 1756, the J.L. Wolf estate was a very successful and highly regarded winery for more than two centuries. It entered an especially glamorous era with the construction of its Italianate estate house and villa in 1843. In the latter years of the 20th century, however, the estate languished, lacking a firm hand to guide its wine production. Ernst Loosen took over the vineyards in 1996, launching a dramatic turnaround in the estate’s quality and reputation.

Pfalz

Pfalz, one of Germany's largest and sunniest wine regions, is celebrated for its diverse and high-quality wines. Located in southwestern Germany, it benefits from a warm, sunny climate and a variety of soils, ideal for viticulture. The region is particularly renowned for its Riesling, known for its vibrant acidity, rich fruit flavours, and versatility from dry to sweet styles. It also excels in producing other varietals, including full-bodied Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), aromatic Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris). Additionally, it is known for its exceptional Gewürztraminer and Silvaner. With its blend of traditional and innovative winemaking practices, diverse terroir, and commitment to quality, Pfalz offers a delightful and varied wine experience for enthusiasts seeking some of Germany's finest wines.
