Description

Brilliant gold in colour with bright amber hues, the Ben Ryé has a very intense bouquet which ranges from fruity notes of apricot, peach, and candied orange to aromatic herbal hints of mediterranean shrubs. On the palate, sweet nuances of honey are married with rich fruity flavours to provide an intense and persistent finish with extraordinary balance.

Grapes were hand harvested and carefully selected in the vineyards. Upon reaching the winery, they underwent selection on a vibrating table before soft pressing. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The dried grapes were destemmed and selected by hand before they were added to the fresh must in several batches. Ageing took place in stainless-steel tanks for eight months with at least a further 12 months in bottle before release.

Donnafugata

Donnafugata was founded in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, fourth generation of a family with over 170 years in fine winemaking, and his wife Gabriella, a pioneer of feminine viticulture. Today, their children José and Antonio lead the winery with a team devoted to excellence. Through passion and innovation, the Rallo family has transformed the style and global perception of Sicilian wine, making Donnafugata a symbol of quality and elegance in the world of Made in Italy.

Sicily

Sicily, Italy’s largest island, is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wines, benefiting from a range of climates and soils. The region is particularly famous for its rich reds, notably from the Nero d’Avola grape, which produces full-bodied wines with deep fruit flavours, spice, and robust structure. It is also celebrated for its elegant Etna wines, made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, which showcase the volcanic terroir with complex, mineral-driven profiles. On the white side, Grillo and Carricante offer crisp, aromatic wines with citrus and floral notes. Combining ancient winemaking traditions with modern techniques, Sicily provides a captivating and varied wine experience.
