Description

From the sunny isle of Mallorca comes this amazing cult wine from a team that operate out of an old converted sheep farm! Despite the interesting label this is a serious wine made from Callet, Cabernet & Merlot. Black cherries, red currents, cedar & spice develop onto a full, ripe palate with well integrated oak. Stunning stuff. Guia Penin winery of the year 2013

4 Kilos

In August of 2006, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero set up 4Kilos Wines in Mallorca. Francesc is a winemaker known mainly for rescuing the variety of the native grape Callet on the Balearic wine scene. Sergio is musician and music festival director. The name 4Kilos comes from the initial investment made by both partners: 4 million pesetas. A modest investment which demonstrates that a good wine does not depend on a great economic effort but an ambition for quality and a passion for the product. In 2007 they converted a former sheep farm into a small winery, and their first wine was launched onto the market in May 2008.

Majorca

Majorca, an island in Spain's Balearic Islands, is an emerging wine region known for its distinctive and high-quality offerings. The island benefits from a Mediterranean climate with warm, sunny weather and cooling sea breezes, which contribute to its unique terroir, and is renowned for its diverse range of wines made from both indigenous and international grape varieties. Local varieties such as Manto Negro and Callet are used to produce robust reds with rich fruit profiles and subtle earthy notes. The island also excels in producing crisp, refreshing whites from varieties like Premsal and Chardonnay, which offer vibrant acidity and aromatic complexity.
