Description

Subtle notes of ripe black fruit jam, combined with delicate toasted notes, which meld perfectly with subtle hints of cocoa and some balsamic hints. The wine is powerful in the mouth, flavourful, meaty and well structured. Endowed with ripe, sweet and high-quality tannins that give it breadth and volume and fill the palate. Bursting with the aromas of ripe fruit in the middle and integrated with the flavour of exquisite wood. Long persistent finish, marked by hints of liquor-infused cherries.

Alejandro Fernadez Tinto Pesquera

A true benchmark for all Ribera del Duero wines, Pesquera was founded in 1972 by Alejandro Fernández and Esperanza Rivera. Throughout his lifetime Fernández (affectionately known in the wine world as The King of Tempranillo), brought this region to the forefront of wine excellence, with Robert Parker regarding Tinto Pesquera as one of the world’s greatest wines. The Fernández Rivera Family oversee four wineries - two in Ribera del Duero, one in Castilla y León and another in La Mancha.

Castilla Y Leon

Castilla y León, located in north-central Spain, is a prominent wine region known for its rich history and diverse wine offerings. It benefits from a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, which, along with varied soil types, creates ideal conditions for viticulture.
The area is especially renowned for its robust reds, particularly those made from Tempranillo and Garnacha, which produce complex wines with rich fruit flavours and notable aging potential. It is also known for its whites, including those from Verdejo and Godello, offering fresh, aromatic profiles with crisp acidity.
Historically, Castilla y León has been a significant wine-producing area since ancient times, with a rich heritage that includes the renowned Ribera del Duero and Rueda DOs.
