Description

Enormously fresh and slightly vegetal nose with rich violet notes and already immense stony minerality and cold smoke. Also coffee, slate, chocolate, smoke and wood in the berry fruit. Tar and blood. Very chalky mouth, superbly integrated acidity, rich, deft in structure with an elegant, medium body. Ethereally expressive, voluminous and enormously drinkable, lots of pull in the juicy, drinkable flow. Moderate tannin, tasty, berry-stony finish. Demanding and a pleasure to drink at the same time.

"A one-off collaboration between artist Okuda San Miguel and winemaker Raúl Perez, the 2019 Kolor Okuda San Miguel & Raúl Perez is presented in a colourful etched bottle. It was produced with grapes from a vineyard in Villadecanes from which they selected 50 barrels and 12 other barrels from the Cabanelas cru, the largest one in Valtuille, a zone that tends to deliver ripe wines from clay and boulder soils. Here they were looking for a fruit-driven wine that is easier to drink and more immediate, with sweet fruit and a juicy palate. Drink 2022 - 2026." 92 points. Luis Gutierrez, The Wine Advocate (January 2022).

Castilla Y Leon

Castilla y León, located in north-central Spain, is a prominent wine region known for its rich history and diverse wine offerings. It benefits from a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, which, along with varied soil types, creates ideal conditions for viticulture.
The area is especially renowned for its robust reds, particularly those made from Tempranillo and Garnacha, which produce complex wines with rich fruit flavours and notable aging potential. It is also known for its whites, including those from Verdejo and Godello, offering fresh, aromatic profiles with crisp acidity.
Historically, Castilla y León has been a significant wine-producing area since ancient times, with a rich heritage that includes the renowned Ribera del Duero and Rueda DOs.
