Dawson & James

Peter Dawson and Tim James are winemakers who have always been driven by quality and innovation, and Dawson James is the realisation of this partnership. Their ambition to make a great Pinot Noir drew them to the cool climate of Tasmania where they have committed to making this and Chardonnay from a unique vineyard site in the Derwent Valley. Its rugged topography is bounded by the fast flowing, pristine waters of the Derwent River. The cool and dry climate, hungry soils and 30 + year-old vines grow grapes with great depth of flavour and intensity of character.

Tasmania

Tasmania, an island state off Australia's southern coast, is acclaimed for its cool climate wines and pristine landscapes. The region's maritime climate, with long sunny days and cool nights, creates ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes. Tasmania excels in producing elegant Pinot Noir and sparkling wines, known for their finesse and complexity. Chardonnay, with its vibrant acidity and citrus notes, and aromatic Riesling are also standout varieties. The island's diverse terroir, characterised by fertile soils and varied microclimates, contributes to the unique character of its wines. Tasmania continues to captivate wine enthusiasts with its refined, world-class offerings and stunning natural beauty.
