Description

Bairrada is the ‘Champagne’ region of Portugal and is famous for the quality Espumate that it produces and their use of the traditional method. The quality of this Brut rivals some of the best sparkling wine from France or any other country. This smooth wine has pineapple, lemon and bags of green apple aromas and a mousse-like texture that comes together to produce a quality wine that can be enjoyed at any special occasion. A natural match to the local delicacy of suckling pig as it cuts through the fat beautifully.

Caves São João

Joining together innovation and tradition, the Caves São João started in the 30s the creation of sparkling wines and in 1959 the production and commercialization, both nationally and internationally, of bottled still wines of great quality. Always inspired by the past, they planted in Quinta do Poço do Lobo, acquired in 1971, the varieties that allowed them to innovate but always keeping in mind the classic profile of their wines.

Beira Interior

Beira Interior, located in northeastern Portugal, is a distinctive and emerging wine region known for its unique and high-quality wines. It benefits from a continental climate with significant temperature variations between day and night, as well as diverse soils, which create ideal conditions for viticulture.
The area is particularly recognised for its robust reds made from indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Baga, and Rufete. These reds are noted for their deep colour, complex flavours of dark fruit, and well-structured tannins. It also produces intriguing whites, often from the Fonte Cal and Síria grapes, which offer crisp acidity, fresh citrus notes, and a touch of minerality.
