Description

This deeply coloured red is made from 60% Merlot and 40% Corvina from select vineyards in Veneto. In homage to the Amarone wines of Vallpolicella the vines are cut but the grapes are left to dry naturally on the vine, a method known as Appassimento. The result is a rich luscious nose full of sweet, ripe dark cherry, plum, vanilla and Christmas spice. The body is rich and velvety, with lots of juicy fruit. Great Value.

Botter

Founded by Carlo and Maria Botter in 1928 in a small town near Venice. They started small, selling local wines in barrels. In the ‘60s their sons joined the Company and began to sell wine in bottles. They boosted the Company’s presence on the Italian market and, most importantly, export markets, which would then turn into the Company’s main source of income. Today, led by the 3rd generation, Botter is one of the largest producers and exporters of Italian wines.

Veneto

Veneto, a prominent wine region in northeastern Italy, is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wines. Encompassing a range of climates and terrains, it is particularly famous for its sparkling Prosecco, made primarily from the Glera grape, which offers vibrant, fruity flavours and refreshing acidity. It also excels in producing rich reds like Amarone della Valpolicella, a powerful wine made from partially dried grapes, and Valpolicella Ripasso, known for its depth and complexity. The region’s whites, such as Soave and Pinot Grigio, are noted for their crisp, clean profiles. With its blend of traditional and innovative winemaking, Veneto provides a captivating and varied wine experience.
