Description

Massaya Rosé has a beautiful strawberry hue with aromatic notes of raspberry, summer stone fruit and subtle spice. Elegant and round on the palate, its graceful acidity gives a bright crisp finish to complement foods such as shellfish, smoked salmon, cured meats, hard cheeses, and roast ham. Light and deliciously approachable, the Massaya Rosé is ideal for brunch or a picnic.

Massaya Rosé is made from 100% Cinsault, cultivated at their Tanail Estate Vineyards in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley at an altitude of 900 to 1,200 metres. Pristine fruit is picked early in the morning to ensure vibrancy and spring in this rosé's step.

Massaya

Massaya has come a long way in a short time. From a once derelict estate in the Beqaa Valley, they now produce highly acclaimed wines and Arak- and in a 2014 expansion they opened a beautiful winery and restaurant complex in Mount Lebanon. The name Massaya means twilight in Lebanese, given that at the specific moment the sun sets behind Mount Lebanon the sky of the Beqaa turns dark blue with a hue similar to the blue bottle of arak.

Bekaa Valley

The Bekaa Valley in Lebanon is a prominent and historic wine region known for its unique and high-quality wines. Located between the Anti-Lebanon Mountains and the Mount Lebanon range, the valley benefits from a Mediterranean climate with warm, sunny days and cool nights, ideal for viticulture. It is renowned for its robust reds, particularly from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Cinsault grapes, which produce rich, full-bodied wines with complex flavours and good ageing potential. The area also excels in whites, including Chardonnay and Viognier, known for their aromatic profiles and crisp acidity. With its blend of ancient winemaking traditions and modern techniques, the Bekaa Valley offers a distinctive and compelling wine experience.
