The Beck family estate, located in the village of Gols, was founded by her father, Matthias Beck, in 1976. Judith took over winemaking responsibilities in 2004 after studying oenology and gaining experience in renowned wineries across Europe, including Cos d’Estournel in Bordeaux and Braida in Italy.
The estate spans approximately 15 hectares, planted with a mix of indigenous Austrian varietals such as Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and St. Laurent, as well as international varieties like Chardonnay and Merlot. Since taking over, Judith has converted the entire vineyard to biodynamic practices, certified by Demeter since 2007. Her approach in the vineyard is one of minimal intervention, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the natural balance of the ecosystem and enhancing soil health through composting, cover crops, and avoiding synthetic chemicals.
