Fratus

Nestled in the heart of Franciacorta, Fratus is a family-run winery dedicated to crafting elegant, expressive sparkling wines with a strong sense of place. Established in the early 1990s by the Vezzoli family, Fratus combines traditional methods with a sustainable, hands-on approach, resulting in wines that are both refined and deeply rooted in the terroir of northern Italy’s most prestigious sparkling wine region.

With vineyards located around the commune of Provaglio d’Iseo, Fratus benefits from the glacially formed, mineral-rich soils and temperate climate that characterise the Franciacorta DOCG. The estate is certified organic, with a strong commitment to biodiversity and low-intervention farming. In the cellar, secondary fermentation follows the traditional méthode champenoise, with extended lees ageing to enhance texture and complexity.

Lombardy

Lombardy, a prominent wine region in northern Italy, is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wines. It features a range of climates, from the Alpine foothills to the Po Valley, contributing to a variety of wine styles. It is particularly famous for its sparkling wines, especially from the Franciacorta area, where the traditional method produces elegant, complex bubblies with fine perlage. The area also excels in robust reds from the Valtellina, made from Nebbiolo, and aromatic whites from the Lugana area, known for its fresh, citrusy notes. Lombardy combines traditional and innovative winemaking techniques, offering a rich and varied wine experience.
