Description

Delicately sparkling, gently pink Pet Nat.

This release from a very small boutique producer is a wonderful choice for lovers of Pet Nats and those who have never had one. It's fresh, complex and it's stunningly flavourful. the Georgiev & Milkov Pet Nat bursts with aromas of raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, along with some citrusy and orchard fruit notes. Subtle hints of almonds and mineral undertones are utterly captivating. Delicate fizz and a vibrant acidity make it a perfect wine for any celebration, with or without food.

This Pet Nat was made in Blanc de Noir style. The grape is Mavrud – a Bulgarian black variety with an ancient history. Grapes were hand-picked from forty-year-old vineyards in the region of Asenovgrad, known to be the birthplace of Mavrud. Further on, grapes were quickly pressed to avoid any prolonged contact with the skins. Thus, the juice remained white. The wine was wildly fermented with minimum intervention and no added sulphites. Fermentation was completed in the bottle resulting in beautiful, gentle fizz.

Pefectly paired with spicy asian dishes, cheeses and seafood.

Georgiev & Milkov

Georgiev & Milkov is a Bulgarian wine project founded in 2014 by oenologists Petar Georgiev and Radostin Milkov. Both graduates of the University of Food Technology in Plovdiv, they have garnered extensive international winemaking experience in countries such as Austria, Malta, the United States, New Zealand, and China. Their shared passion for Bulgarian indigenous grape varieties led them to establish this venture, aiming to showcase the contemporary potential of local cultivars.

The duo focuses on sourcing grapes from old vineyards in the Plovdiv region, particularly emphasising varieties like Mavrud from Novi Izvor and Rubin from Brestovitsa. Their commitment to expressing the authentic character of these grapes involves meticulous vineyard selection and minimal intervention winemaking techniques. Notably, they do not own vineyards but collaborate closely with local growers to ensure high-quality fruit.
