Description

Vachnadziani, a storied winery established in 1953, is nestled in Georgia’s Kakheti region, known as the ‘cradle of wine’. This winery is dedicated to preserving the ancient wine culture of Georgia, which dates back 8,000 years, as evidenced by indigenous Rkatsiteli grape seeds found in clay vessels. The vineyard spans over 1,000 hectares and focuses on indigenous varieties, with Rkatsiteli making up 100% of this wine.

The grapes flourish in the moderately humid climate of eastern Georgia, at an altitude of 320 metres, benefiting from the clay-loamy soils that provide excellent water retention. The vines are meticulously cared for using the Vertical Shoot Position method and Double Guyot pruning, with organic mineral fertilisers enhancing the soil.

This particular wine is crafted from carefully selected Rkatsiteli grapes, fermented at 16°C in stainless steel tanks to highlight the varietal’s natural characteristics. It presents a pale straw colour and exudes lively citrus and exotic tropical fruit aromas. On the palate, it’s refreshing and easy-drinking, culminating in a delightfully aromatic finish. This wine encapsulates the charm and historic winemaking legacy of Georgia.
