Clos Fantine is a family-run winery located in the Faugères appellation of the Languedoc region in southern France. Established in 1997 by the Andrieu family—siblings Corinne, Carole, and Olivier—the estate has gained a reputation for its commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, as well as its dedication to producing authentic, terroir-driven wines.
The 30-hectare vineyard is planted primarily with old vines of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, nestled on the schistous soils that define the Faugères terroir. These soils, combined with the Mediterranean climate, contribute to the intense minerality and complexity found in Clos Fantine's wines. The Andrieu family has embraced a philosophy of minimal intervention, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wines are fermented using indigenous yeasts, with no added sulphur and no filtration or fining, resulting in wines that truly express their natural origins.
