Description

A Vino Nobile for the tannins lovers with berry, bark and dried mushroom character. Full-bodied with fresh acidity underneath the tannin backbone.

Boscarelli returned to produce this wine in vintage 2010, after almost 20 years since the Riserva was last released, in 1991, as they waited for perfect ripeness of their historical vineyards, that were replanted at the end of the 80's. Clones from massal selections and the maturity of the vines give grapes with complexity and elegant structure, that express themselves in intense and delightful wines.

The ageing potential of the Riserva is a few decades, the optimum maturation period recommended varies, depending on the vintage, from 5 to 10 years after harvest

Poderi Boscarelli

Founder of Boscarelli, Paola has been involved in the winery's production since the 1960s, she took over in 1983 following the tragic loss of her husband. Her sons Luca and Nicolò, joined her in the family business in 1988 and 1997. Boscarelli represents not only fine wines, but the authentic expression of their passion and daily commitment. Those who approach the great Tuscan reds find in the wines and in the cellar the same passion that animates everything they do.

Tuscany

Tuscany, one of Italy's most renowned wine regions, is celebrated for its exceptional and diverse wines. Known for its picturesque landscapes and ideal climate, it benefits from a range of terroirs, from rolling hills to coastal areas. The area is particularly famous for its red wines, notably Chianti, made primarily from Sangiovese grapes, which offer bright acidity, cherry flavours, and earthy undertones. It also produces prestigious wines such as Brunello di Montalcino, a full-bodied red with complex flavours and excellent ageing potential, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. For whites, Vernaccia di San Gimignano is noted for its crisp, refreshing character. Tuscany blends traditional winemaking with innovative techniques, offering a rich and varied wine experience.
