Description

Aromas of spices, wild berries and distinctive graphite, which provides very sophisticated and complex notes. Pure flavours of cherry, raspberry and mineral notes, this wine is vibrant, firm and well-defined with charming acidity and good length.

A very old vineyard, of 111 years old which has a field blend of more than 30 different indigenous grape varieties.

The harvest was planned on the 28th of September in perfect weather conditions. All grapes previously selected and partially de-stemmed were foot trodden in stone lagares during all the fermentation process (10 days). The aging was developed in neutral French oak barriques during 22 months.

Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges began their adventure in 2001. In the beginning, the young couple had no vineyards and no wine, but they shared a dream, a personal project to which they have devoted themselves body and soul.

The name Wine & Soul is the product of their passion and total commitment to wine. From the start, this company's work has focused on a tireless search for exceptional vines in the Pinhão Valley - the historic heart of great Port wines - to give them a voice.

Wine & Soul

Jorge and Sandra’s adventure began in 2001. They started with no vineyards and no wine, but they fully devoted themselves to a tireless search for exceptional vines in the Pinhão Valley, the historic heart of great Port wines. What used to be an old Port lodge is now a reflection of the Douro’s history and tradition. Its grandeur, breadth and richness of the region are reflected in using grapes from an ancient vine growing more than 40 mixed grape varieties.

Douro Valley

The Douro Valley, located in northern Portugal, is a historic and renowned wine region known for its exceptional Port and table wines. Recognised as one of the oldest demarcated wine regions in the world, it was officially regulated in 1756. The valley's dramatic landscape, characterised by steep terraced vineyards along the Douro River, creates a unique terroir that is ideal for viticulture.
The area is particularly famous for its Port wines, which range from rich and robust Vintage Ports to smooth and sweet Tawny Ports, crafted from indigenous grapes like Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. It also produces high-quality red and white table wines, with rich, full-bodied reds and aromatic whites from local varieties such as Touriga Franca and Viosinho. The combination of historical winemaking traditions and modern practices makes the Douro Valley a compelling and storied wine region.
