The Château de Montifaud Vintage 2005 is a rare Cognac from the Petite Champagne cru, with only 460 individually numbered bottles released. Made from Ugni Blanc grapes, this Cognac benefits from the chalky soil of the region and showcases the purity of a single harvest. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, carefully managing maturity and minimizing oxidation during pressing and fermentation. Distilled slowly on fine lees and aged in French oak barrels from Limousin, the spirit develops complexity while maintaining aromatic clarity. Initial months in new oak are followed by many years in old barrels in the family-owned cellars, contributing depth and structure.
