Description

Sometimes overshadowed by Beaumes De Venise, St Jean De Minervois is a great place for Muscat and often better value than the Rhone appellation. It has a pineapple filled palate, with a floral nose and lots of mineral freshness. Delicious as an aperitif or pair with blue cheese.

Clos du Gravillas

Clos du Gravillas, located in the Languedoc's Saint-Jean-de-Minervois, is a small winery known for its exceptional Muscat. Founded in 1996 by Nicole Lénard and John Bojanowski, the estate focuses on organic farming and minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to shine through in their wines. The vineyards of Clos du Gravillas are situated on limestone-rich soils at an altitude of 300 meters, perfect for cultivating Muscat. The white gravel ("Gravillas") and Mediterranean climate contribute to the wine's aromatic intensity and vibrant minerality.

Languedoc-Roussillon

Languedoc-Roussillon, situated in southern France, is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wines. It benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with abundant sunshine, hot summers, and mild winters, ideal for viticulture. Languedoc-Roussillon produces a wide variety of wines, including robust reds from grape varieties like Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, as well as crisp, refreshing whites and rosés. The area is also known for its excellent sparkling wines, particularly Crémant de Limoux. The diverse terroir, ranging from coastal plains to mountainous areas, and a mix of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques result in wines with distinctive character and depth. Languedoc-Roussillon is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts seeking a rich and varied wine experience.
