Description

Calco is a collaboration between Triangle Wines (aka Ben and Alvaro from Indigo) and the De Martino family, to make small-batch wines from specially selected plots in the cool Pacific influenced Limari Valley. This is a pure coastal Pinot, with fresh acidity, juicy red berries and a savoury finish.

Juicy raspberry and red cherry notes on the nose, with a tinge of floral violet character. On the palate, it has crisp acidity, fine chalky tannins and a hint of forest floor.

Triangle Wines

Triangle Wines was born from Indigo's passion for working with top winemakers whose wines they love. The project began in 2016 when Indigo met Gerardo Michelini during a Bierzo harvest, leading to a fresh, modern Malbec from Argentina's Uco Valley. Gerardo has since passed the baton to Edy del Popolo and David Bonomi of PerSe. Our second South American partnership is with Chile’s De Martino family, producing a Chablis-like Chardonnay and juicy Pinot Noir from Limarí Valley. In Europe, we collaborate with Dirk van der Niepoort in Portugal's Bairrada. We're always searching for the best terroirs and talent to craft wines we believe in.

Coquimbo

Coquimbo, an emerging wine region in northern Chile, is celebrated for its diverse microclimates and exceptional wines. It benefits from a combination of coastal and mountainous influences, with ample sunshine, cool ocean breezes, and significant temperature variations between day and night. Coquimbo is renowned for its high-quality Pisco production, using aromatic grape varieties like Muscat. The Elqui, Limarí, and Choapa valleys within Coquimbo are gaining acclaim for their distinctive wines. The Limarí Valley, in particular, is noted for its minerally Chardonnay and elegant Pinot Noir, while the Elqui Valley produces vibrant Syrah and crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The unique terroir, characterized by mineral-rich soils and pristine growing conditions, imparts a special character to the wines. Coquimbo offers a captivating experience for wine enthusiasts seeking innovative and high-quality wines in a picturesque setting.
