Description

Jackson and Seillan selected California’s Sonoma County as the ideal location for Verite’s vineyards. Our vineyards are located in the Bennett Valley, Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill and Knights Valley appellations.

Sonoma County is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions on earth. Due to the influence of the Pacific Ocean, the climate flows from west to east, rather than from north to south. The eastern inland appellations are warm, dry, and ideal for Bordeaux varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The microclimates in each appellation are warm enough to fully ripen red Bordeaux varieties, but cool enough to retain the natural acidity needed to make timeless, age-worthy wines.

"A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2015 La Joie features a very deep purple-black color and almost electric nose of crushed blackcurrants, ripe black cherries and mulberries with sparks of raspberry pie, wild blueberries, unsmoked cigars, charcuterie and crushed stones. Medium to full-bodied and charged with the most amazing energy, the youthful, vibrant black-fruited palate is framed by very firm, very finely grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing with lingering crushed stones and earth layers. 4,000 cases produced.
Drink 2021 - 2057."

Verite Winery

Founded in 1998 when Jess Jackson, founder of one of the most successful family-owned wine companies in the USA, and Pierre Seillan came together to create a wine that would be just as good as the world’s best wines. They were confident that the terroir in Sonoma County had that potential. Following in her father’s footsteps, Hélène pursued a career in winemaking, she has now stepped into the role of assistant winemaker at the estate ushering in the next generation.

Sonoma

Sonoma County, located in Northern California, is a distinguished wine region known for its diverse terroirs and high-quality wine production. The county benefits from a Mediterranean climate with cool coastal influences, which contributes to its varied and nuanced wines. It's celebrated for its exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, particularly in the Russian River Valley, where the cool climate enhances their elegance and complexity. The county also produces notable Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a range of other varietals like Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.
