Description

This wine is made by the same team behind Ch. Puygueraud, but it has its own distinctive style. It is 100% Merlot, and it shows a fine aromatic profile and a remarkable freshness. It has lovely fruit flavours of plum and spice, with some tobacco notes that indicate some ageing potential. It has a classic structure, with perfect balance and harmony. It has a good, almost smoky finish that lingers on the palate. This wine would pair well with roasted meats, cheese or mushroom dishes.

Chateau Lauriol

Under the management of Nicolas Thienpont, the beautiful Château Lauriol is located at the heart of the slopes that neighbour Puygueraud. It is the second wine of the Puygueraud estate. A descendant of wine merchant, Camille Thienpont, Nicolas did not intend to become a winemaker. He spent his childhood in Puygueraud, then studied law and philosophy. The call of the vineyard diverted him from this path. In the 1980s, he took over the management of Château Puygueraud.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux, one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, is located in southwestern France and is celebrated for its exceptional wines. It benefits from a temperate maritime climate, influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean, providing ideal conditions for viticulture. It is particularly renowned for its red wines, primarily blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, offering rich, complex flavours and excellent ageing potential. Notable sub-regions include Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol. Bordeaux also produces exquisite white wines, both dry, from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, and sweet, from the Sauternes and Barsac areas. The region's unique terroir, combined with centuries-old winemaking traditions, results in wines of unparalleled quality and distinction. Bordeaux remains a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts seeking world-class wines and a rich viticultural heritage.
