Description

Handy half-bottle format from one of Argentina's premiere producers.

It is crafted from Malbec grown at an altitude of 4000 feet high in the Andes. The grapes are picked by hand before undergoing a rigorous selection process. The wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for three to four months to soften and add texture. The finished product is an attractive red colour with violet hues. Aromas are primarily those of ripe fruit - cherries, blackberries, blueberries and fresh plums combined with spicy and floral hints. In the mouth, the sweet and round tannins lend elegance and balance.

An Ideal partner for any rich meat dish or barbecued food.

Finca Sophenia

Established in 1997 Finca Sophenia is recognised as one of the top wine producers in Argentina.  Winery founder Roberto Luka specifically chose Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mendoza - one of the most prestigious winegrowing regions in Argentina - to craft the country’s highest quality wines. The result was absolutely gratifying, and the wines have since been universally praised by critics and publications across the world. The name of the estate is an amalgamation of his daughters names Sophia and Eugenia.

Mendoza

Mendoza, Argentina's most renowned wine region, is synonymous with exceptional winemaking and world-class wines. Nestled at the foothills of the Andes, Mendoza's high-altitude vineyards benefit from abundant sunshine, cool nights, and minimal rainfall, creating perfect conditions for grape cultivation. The area is particularly famous for its Malbec, offering rich, full-bodied wines with dark fruit flavours and a velvety texture. It also excels in producing excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Torrontés. The diverse terroir, with its variety of soils and microclimates, imparts a unique character to its wines. Mendoza remains a must-visit destination for wine lovers seeking outstanding and memorable wines.
