Andreas Bender

Young winemaker Andreas Bender has sites across the heart of the Mosel Valley. Having lived and worked in the region all his life he knows each area well, and which sites are likely to thrive each vintage. His method is distinctive in the world of German wine: instead of following the familiar model whereby top single vineyards are vinified and bottled separately, he blends his vineyards to achieve three different styles. On good years the best cuvées, from single vineyard sites with the most concentrated fruit are bottled as his black label ‘Zenit’.

Pfalz

Pfalz, one of Germany's largest and sunniest wine regions, is celebrated for its diverse and high-quality wines. Located in southwestern Germany, it benefits from a warm, sunny climate and a variety of soils, ideal for viticulture. The region is particularly renowned for its Riesling, known for its vibrant acidity, rich fruit flavours, and versatility from dry to sweet styles. It also excels in producing other varietals, including full-bodied Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), aromatic Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris). Additionally, it is known for its exceptional Gewürztraminer and Silvaner. With its blend of traditional and innovative winemaking practices, diverse terroir, and commitment to quality, Pfalz offers a delightful and varied wine experience for enthusiasts seeking some of Germany's finest wines.
