Description

This Pinot Noir has wonderfully complex aromas of floral, berry and spice notes that complement the earthy notes of wet stone and black tea. With time in the glass, more savoury notes develop. The palate melts into supple, fine tannins giving a robust structure to the wine. The overall impression is silky, with excellent acidity creating a vibrant palate with a long, harmonious finish.

Organic, biodynamic, vegan, low sulphur.

Burn Cottage

Burn Cottage Vineyard is a twenty four hectare estate in the foothills of the Pisa range in Central Otago, New Zealand. Husband and wife founders Marquis Sauvage and Dianne Sauvage were on a return trip from the Mornington Peninsula in Australia and had decided to visit several regions in New Zealand when they were struck by the extraordinary beauty of Central Otago decided that they had found the place to make wine. They purchased the Burn Cottage site in 2002 and from then New Zealander Peter Proctor and his partner Rachel Pomeroy established the biodynamic practices at Burn Cottage. The Sauvage family are based in Chicago.

Central Otago

Central Otago, located in New Zealand's South Island, is renowned for its exceptional and distinctive wines. The region's cool climate, marked by cold winters and warm, dry summers, along with its varied soils, creates ideal conditions for viticulture. The area is especially celebrated for its world-class Pinot Noir, known for its deep, vibrant flavours, complex aromas, and elegant structure. It also produces high-quality whites, including Riesling and Chardonnay, which exhibit crisp acidity, rich fruit characteristics, and a mineral edge.
