Description

An elegant and finely structured Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, offering a poised balance between power and finesse. On the nose, it reveals fragrant notes of ripe black cherries, crushed violets, graphite, and a touch of liquorice. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and layers of dark fruit, cocoa, and subtle earthy undertones. The cooler vintage lends freshness and precision, while the mineral core and long, graceful finish highlight the estate’s limestone-rich terroir. This wine is drinking well now with decanting, but also promises further complexity with cellaring.

Chateau Larcis Ducasse

In the 16th century, the wines of Larcis Ducasse were highly appreciated and already highly sought after, receiving their first gold medal in 1867. Henry Raba bought Larcis Ducasse in 1893 and it is still owned today by his descendants. Jeanne Attmane, her brother Jacques-Olivier Gratiot, and their children strive to preserve and perpetuate this wonderful heritage. In 2012, under the management of Nicolas Thienpont, the estate was promoted to 1er Grand Cru Classé in the Saint Emilion Wine Classification.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux, one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, is located in southwestern France and is celebrated for its exceptional wines. It benefits from a temperate maritime climate, influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean, providing ideal conditions for viticulture. It is particularly renowned for its red wines, primarily blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, offering rich, complex flavours and excellent ageing potential. Notable sub-regions include Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol. Bordeaux also produces exquisite white wines, both dry, from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, and sweet, from the Sauternes and Barsac areas. The region's unique terroir, combined with centuries-old winemaking traditions, results in wines of unparalleled quality and distinction. Bordeaux remains a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts seeking world-class wines and a rich viticultural heritage.
