Description

Jean-Bernard's wine, made from the two Mansengs and old vines Courbu is completely natural. It's golden yellow with aromas of pineapple and fresh-cut grapefruit and fills out the mouth with butter and white spice. The oak gives texture rather than flavour.

Clos Lapeyre

Clos Lapeyre is a respected winery located in the Jurançon appellation of southwestern France. Managed by Jean-Bernard Larrieu, the estate has been in the family for generations, with a strong focus on preserving the region’s winemaking traditions. Situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the vineyard spans 18 hectares, predominantly planted with Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, and Courbu—varietals that thrive in Jurançon’s unique climate and soils.
Clos Lapeyre practices organic viticulture, emphasizing biodiversity and minimal intervention to allow the terroir to shine through. The steep, terraced vineyards benefit from a mix of clay and limestone soils, contributing to the distinctive minerality and freshness in their wines.
The estate is best known for its Jurançon Sec and sweet Jurançon wines, which are praised for their balance of intense fruit flavours, vibrant acidity, and complex aromatics.

South-West

The South West Region of France, known for its diverse landscapes and rich winemaking heritage, offers a wide variety of distinctive wines. Benefiting from a mix of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences, the region's climate is ideal for viticulture. It is renowned for its robust reds, such as Malbec from Cahors and Tannat from Madiran, which are known for their deep colour, intense flavours, and excellent ageing potential. The area also produces elegant whites from grapes like Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng in Jurançon, known for their aromatic and vibrant profiles. Additionally, Bergerac and Gaillac are notable appellations offering both red and white wines of exceptional quality. With its combination of unique terroirs, indigenous grape varieties, and traditional winemaking methods, the South West Region provides a rich and varied wine experience for enthusiasts seeking something truly special.
