Description

Andre Dezat, along with his sons and grandsons, produces this classy wine from fruit sourced from four villages within Pouilly which, between them, offer the various key soil types essential for top-notch Pouilly Fume. There are hints of passion fruit, peach and citrus on the nose. The palate is harmonious and predominantly displays floral notes with a mixture of light peach, fresh-cut grass and citrus aromas, all wrapped in a lovely minerality/gunsmoke element on the finish.

Arnaud et Stephanie Dezat

In the Dezat family, the vine is in the blood, with winegrower ancestors dating back to the 15th century! In 1948, Stéphanie and Arnaud's grandfather André took over the family business. He became a key figure in Sancerre, greatly contributing to the reputation of the appellation. His two sons took up the torch in the 1970s, modernizing and expanding the estate, acquiring vines in AOC Pouilly Fumé, then in AOC Menetou-Salon. In 2020 Stéphanie and Arnaud founded a new estate.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley in France is a prestigious wine region renowned for its diverse wines and picturesque landscapes. Stretching along the Loire River, it benefits from a varied climate and a range of soil types, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its white wines, including the crisp and mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and the aromatic Chenin Blanc from Vouvray and Saumur. The area also produces excellent reds, such as the light and fruity Cabernet Franc from Chinon and Bourgueil. Rosé and sparkling wines, like Crémant de Loire, add to the diversity of the region. With its rich winemaking heritage, varied terroirs, and high-quality wines, the Loire Valley offers an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts seeking both classic and innovative wines.
