Characterful Riesling from the steeply sloping vineyards of the middle Nahe region. The vines grow in stony, weathered volcanic soils mainly composed of porphyry and melaphyr, with some slate and quartzite.
An off-dry Riesling wine, very typical of Dönnhoff's wine estate. Wonderfully fresh and well defined, elegant with a tingling minerality. A delicious wine for every day with moderate alcohol, subtle fruit sweetness and soothing acidity.
"Even with information as sparse as Riesling 2020 you can be rest-assured of a good wine when it comes from the house of Dönnhoff. It's their so-called entry estate wine, not quite dry, produced in the style of a light and lively Kabinett with the merest hint of residual sugar. Minerality takes the back seat for once, letting the palate enjoy gentle notes of yellow fruit and a tasteful floral touch, backed by totally refreshing acidity. Drink 2021 - 2025."
