Description

Luminous red and unspeakably steep, the Ürziger Würzgarten forms a unique amphitheater made of Rotliegend (red, volcanic rock). It produces a completely different type of great Riesling, full of exotic, spicy aromas and great depth. In some years you can taste aniseed and even a touch of Gewürztraminer.

The lightest and most delicate German Rieslings are referred to as "Kabinetts," and this example from Ernst Loosen is full of grace and subtlety and is well balanced.
