Description

The Pinot Noir grape is one of Marlborough's stars. The cool climate queen of red wine is a natural match for Marlborough's reliable cool dry vintage climate. Delicious aromas of raspberry, strawberry and black Dawson cherry with hints of violets. The taste is all dark fruit cake and plum, with hints of spice and savoury, "forest floor" aromas. It's full, complex and delicious on the palate. Great to drink now, but your patience will be rewarded by cellaring for 5+ years.

This Pinot Noir is a complex amalgam of four different "terroirs"- classic Wairau river valley stony soils, southern valleys, Brancott aged clays, Northbank young stone/ clay mix and Awatere Valley complex seabed soils. Each plot was hand harvested, fermented in 2-3 ton lots with hand plunging, skin contacted post fermentation, gently pressed and then aged in 20/80 blend of new/old French oak barriques for 10 months.

Forrest Wines

Just outside of Renwick, in Marlborough, the Forrest family has been crafting wines since the 1980’s. Returning to family roots of farming in the region seemed a natural progression for John and Brigid Forrest, after successful careers in scientific research and medicine. They don’t believe in using ‘sustainability’ as a buzzword to make them look better. From the vineyards to the processing plant, to the bottles themselves, every aspect has been considered with sustainability and minimal environmental impact in mind.

Marlborough's Sauvignon Blanc, known for its vibrant acidity, intense tropical fruit flavours, and distinctive grassy notes. The area also excels in producing high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, offering rich, complex profiles with balanced acidity and fine textures.
