Jean-Michel Gerin

The Gerin family has been established in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie vineyard, for 6 generations. This vineyard, located 30km south of Lyon, is the northernmost appellation of the Rhône Valley and one of the smallest. The influence of the Mediterranean and continental climates gives wines that are tannic, powerful, silky and elegant. The king grape variety, "Syrah" is sometimes blended with Viognier to bring more finesse to the wines.

Northern Rhone

The Northern Rhône, a prestigious wine region in southeastern France, is celebrated for its exceptional Syrah-based red wines and aromatic white wines. Characterised by its steep, terraced vineyards along the Rhône River, it benefits from a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, ideal for viticulture. The Northern Rhône is particularly renowned for its powerful and elegant red wines from Syrah, notably from appellations like Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, and Cornas. It also produces exquisite white wines from Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne, especially in Condrieu and Saint-Joseph. The unique terroir, combined with traditional winemaking techniques, imparts distinctive flavours and complexity to the wines. The Northern Rhône offers a remarkable experience for wine enthusiasts seeking some of France's finest and most storied wines.
