Dense and complex on the nose with clear hints of citrus fruit, yellow fruit and elderflower, alongside aromatic herbs, and a light spiciness. Gritty and deep palate, savoury and enveloping, punctuated by a nice acid boost, with fresh citrus on the finish.
Enjoy with simple fish dishes as well as raw preprations like sushi and sashimi.

Founded in 2008 by Gianfranco Sabbatino and Andrea Barzagli, Le Casematte is situated within the Messina Province of Sicily. The winery owes its name to the presence of two small forts or 'pillboxes' situated in the vineyard that date back to WW1. The vineyard overlooks the Straight of Messina, the stretch of sea that separates Calabria from Sicilia. Le Casematte's currently has 14 hectares under vine, at an altitude between 820 and 1,215 feet above sea level.
