Description

A dark cedar in colour. On the nose scents of cassis and black cherry with a hint of chocolate. On the palate fresh and lively with smoky notes and further spicy black fruit flavours. The tannins are complex yet discreet and the finish fresh and lingering.

Sun, wind, drought, stones are no longer obstacles to their wines. Light is not a barrier to freshness, ripeness is not only a matter of sugar and heat has nothing to do with power. Their goal is to make distinctive wines, not to make the best Roussillon wines. When they were younger, Roc des Anges made warm-climate wines, now they make soil wines. The sense of place is a hallmark of their wines.

The wine with four 'S': soft, smooth, silky and smoky! From the rock of the angels springs the blood (Segna) of the heart (Cor). This Domaine entry-level wine is longer, finer and deeper than most other estate's regular cuvée! From a selection of the estate's youngest vines (15-30 years old) creates a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. A lively, full-bodied wine with plenty of red and black fruits with a long, elegant finish.

Roc des Anges

Le Roc des Anges is not the kind of domaine you expect to find in the Roussillon. Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet have constructed an organic and biodynamic wine sanctuary in the Vallée de l’Agly, a nearly deserted vineyard land and one of the most difficult places in France to make a living in vineyards. They produce very small quantities of wines, committing to ecological practices and minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the winery.

Languedoc-Roussillon

Languedoc-Roussillon, situated in southern France, is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wines. It benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with abundant sunshine, hot summers, and mild winters, ideal for viticulture. Languedoc-Roussillon produces a wide variety of wines, including robust reds from grape varieties like Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, as well as crisp, refreshing whites and rosés. The area is also known for its excellent sparkling wines, particularly Crémant de Limoux. The diverse terroir, ranging from coastal plains to mountainous areas, and a mix of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques result in wines with distinctive character and depth. Languedoc-Roussillon is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts seeking a rich and varied wine experience.
