Description

A beautifully pure expression of Jura’s signature grape, aged under topped-up conditions to preserve its freshness. The nose reveals delicate aromas of green apple, lemon zest, crushed almonds, and subtle florals. On the palate, it is taut and vibrant, with zippy acidity, stony minerality, and a saline finish. Unlike oxidative styles, this cuvée is clean and linear, offering precision and clarity - a superb choice for lovers of distinctive, terroir-driven whites.

Marie-Pierre Chevassu-Fassenet

Marie-Pierre Chevassu-Fassenet is a distinguished winemaker in the Jura region of France, known for her dedication to crafting traditional, terroir-driven wines that reflect the unique character of the region. She manages Domaine de la Touraize, a family estate with a history dating back to 1704, located in the village of Arbois, the heart of Jura’s winemaking tradition.
Marie-Pierre took over the estate alongside her husband, Raphaël Monnier, and together they have revitalized the domaine, focusing on sustainable farming and the preservation of Jura’s indigenous grape varieties. The estate covers approximately 13 hectares, planted with classic Jura varietals such as Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated organically, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the health of the soils and promoting biodiversity.

Jura

Jura, a small yet distinctive wine region in eastern France, is celebrated for its unique wines and picturesque landscapes. Nestled between Burgundy and Switzerland, it benefits from a cool climate and varied soils, ideal for producing a diverse range of wines. The region is particularly renowned for its oxidative whites, such as Vin Jaune, made from the Savagnin grape and aged under a layer of yeast, resulting in complex, nutty, and slightly tangy flavours. It also excels in producing fresh and vibrant white wines from Chardonnay, as well as light, earthy reds from Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Poulsard. The region's sparkling wines, Crémant du Jura, are made using traditional methods and are known for their finesse and elegance. With its blend of traditional winemaking techniques and unique terroirs, Jura offers a fascinating wine experience for enthusiasts seeking distinctive and high-quality wines.
