Description

A single-vintage, extended-ageing expression of Albariño from one of the benchmark estates in Rías Baixas. Where the standard Señoráns is picked for freshness, the Selección de Añada is a selection of the finest plots, fermented in stainless steel and then aged on the fine lees for several years before release.

Full-bodied and textured on the palate, with the kind of waxy, almost unctuous weight that prolonged lees contact produces in Atlantic whites. The acidity is the backbone of the wine and remains lively despite the age, giving it a nervy tension that stops the richness from becoming heavy. The finish is long, saline and nutty, with a slight oxidative note that lingers pleasantly. This is Albariño as a serious contemplative wine rather than an aperitif, sitting comfortably in conversation with aged white Rioja, Chenin Blanc from Savennières, or a mature Grüner Veltliner Smaragd. It suits langoustines, aged goat's cheese, or dishes with enough richness and savoury depth to meet the wine on its own terms.

Pazo Senorans

Pazo Señorans is a magnificent example of the 16th century manor houses, built in the countryside with all the charm and nobility of bygone eras. The winery’s first vintage was in 1989. The team work to ensure that the wines are a faithful reflection of the land in which they are born. The vineyard is entirely made up of the native Albariño variety, the plots are all located within a radius of about 10 km, and close to the sea.

Galicia

Galicia, located in the northwest of Spain, is renowned for its distinctive and high-quality wines, benefiting from a unique climate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. The region's cool, wet conditions and lush landscapes create an ideal environment for viticulture.
It is particularly famous for its exceptional white wines, notably from the Albariño grape, which produces crisp, aromatic wines with vibrant acidity and notes of citrus and stone fruit. The area also produces high-quality reds from varieties such as Mencía, known for its fresh, fruity character and subtle tannins.
Historically, Galicia’s winemaking tradition dates back to Roman times, but the region began to gain wider recognition in the late 20th century.
