Beautiful spice on the nose with hints of ripe pear, wild strawberry, freshly picked tropical fruit and a delicate nuttiness. The citrus notes are subtle in the background on the palate alongside a gentle tannic presence and grip/mouthfeel.
An exciting wine, which makes an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine, but white meat dishes such as pork fillet also work wonderfully with it.
The copper-hued Pinot Grigio Ramato was crafted from one of the estates most precious plots, high on top of Mount San Biagio. The selection of the grapes is crucial for this product, as is the subsequent five-day cryomaceration, which is aimed at extracting the phenolic components that give this wine its extraordinary colour and flavour profile.
"Ramato" is an Italian term used to describe a particular style of Pinot Grigio. It refers to the copper or "ramato" colour the wine obtains from brief skin contact during winemaking. Unlike traditional white Pinot Grigio, made without skin contact, Ramato wines have a slightly orange or pinkish hue.
