Description

Deep and violet-tinged, with ripe black plum, blackberry and a savoury, peppery edge. Soft tannins and fresh acidity keep it easy going rather than heavy. A blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Syrah from estate vineyards on limestone clay at Alenquer, close enough to the Atlantic to hold onto freshness. The grapes are destemmed and cold soaked, fermented in stainless steel under temperature control, with part of the blend resting in used French barriques for six months.
