Description

A vibrant and approachable expression of Tempranillo, crafted from organically farmed, old-vine fruit. It opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, red cherries, and a hint of violet, alongside subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and juicy, offering bright red and black fruit flavours, lively acidity, and smooth, supple tannins. Fermented with native yeasts and aged minimally in used oak, the wine retains a sense of freshness and purity, finishing with a lifted, spicy note. It’s an energetic, easy-drinking Ribera perfect for casual gatherings and hearty dishes.

Quinta Milu

Ribera del Duero is known for its powerhouse wines and heavy oak—but that’s not Germán Blanco’s style. At his micro-winery in La Aguilera, Burgos, Germán champions a fresher, more elegant take on Tinto del Pais (the local name for Tempranillo).

This family-run project focuses on high-altitude, old-vine plots—many planted over 900 metres above sea level. Using traditional methods like foot-treading, wild yeast fermentation, and minimal intervention, Germán crafts wines that are vibrant, pure, and full of character. Expect bright fruit, rustic charm, and remarkable freshness in every bottle.

Ribera del Duero

Ribera del Duero is a prestigious wine region located in northern Spain, renowned for its exceptional red wines, primarily made from the Tempranillo grape, locally known as Tinta del País or Tinto Fino. The region spans the upper valley of the Duero River and benefits from a continental climate with hot, dry summers and harsh winters, which contribute to the unique character of its wines. The combination of high altitude, limestone-rich soils, and significant temperature variations between day and night enhances the concentration and complexity of the grapes. Ribera del Duero is home to some of Spain’s most celebrated wineries, including Vega Sicilia and Dominio de Pingus, which produce bold, full-bodied wines with rich flavours of dark fruit, spices, and a distinct earthy quality. Established as a Denomination of Origin (DO) in 1982, the region has quickly become synonymous with high-quality, age-worthy wines that compete on the world stage.
