Shirayuki Classic Junmai is a traditional sake with a nostalgic profile reminiscent of Showa Period (1926-1989) styles. Koji spores were sealed in a time capsule since the 1920s and were used to recreate this authentic taste.
Inviting aromas of bread, cooked rice, creamy banana, cooked pear, and brown sugar with supporting melon, molasses, leather, and white pepper on the finish. Medium-bodied with a grainy texture that smooths when heated, leading to dark sugar and banana bread flavours. This well-balanced sake is an easy-drinking all-rounder, available at an affordable price point.
It pairs well with cream cheese, yakitori/robata, roast chicken, BBQ, paté, hams, crème brûlée, cauliflower cheese, sweeter vegetables such as carrots and parsnips, etc.
