Description

Deep ruby with a generous, approachable nose of ripe black cherry, plum and dried violet, lifted by hints of cocoa and a faintly earthy, Mediterranean scrub character. The palate is full and round with soft, well-integrated tannins and a warm, fruit-driven finish. Unoaked and unpretentious, Jorio is Montepulciano at its most drinkable: a reliable, crowd-pleasing red with enough structure to sit comfortably alongside pasta, pizza or a simple grilled lamb chop.

Umani Ronchi

Founded in 1957 by Gino Umani Ronchi and now run by the Bianchi-Bernetti Family, Umani Ronchi are perhaps one of the best-known names in Italian winemaking. Farming multiple sites in both the Marche and Abruzzo regions of eastern Italy, they are committed to sustainability and have achieved organic certification for several of their bottlings. Umani Ronchi make sublime wines from mainly indigenous varietals across all styles and price points, as evidenced by their success.

Abruzzo

Abruzzo, located in central Italy along the Adriatic coast, is renowned for its robust and distinctive wines. The region features a range of climates and terrains, from coastal areas to mountainous inland regions, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, a full-bodied red wine with rich flavors of dark fruit, spices, and earthy notes. The area also produces excellent Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, a crisp white with fresh acidity and notes of green apple and citrus. Abruzzo’s diverse terroirs and traditional winemaking practices, combined with a growing focus on quality, offer a captivating wine experience for enthusiasts seeking both bold reds and refreshing whites.
