Description

This wine is made from a blend of 70% Grüner Veltliner and 30% Gelber Muskateller, with 3% skins of Gelber Muskateller. The wine is bottled while still fermenting, which captures the natural bubbles within the bottle. This handcrafted wine is fermented with native yeasts and does not include any fining, filtration, or sulphur. You can expect citrus notes, which add freshness to the wine, as well as apple and pear flavours. The wine has a crisp acidity that balances the fruitiness.

Fuchs und Hase

Weingut Fuchs und Hase is an independent winery founded in 2014 by Stefanie and Alwin Jurtschitsch and Martin and Anna Arndorfer producing exclusively pet-nat wines. The Arndofers and Jurtschitsch's had been good friends for years. After learning about pet nat in other countries (none was made in Austria at the time), they decided that they wanted to try to make some together. The first bottle of Fuchs und Hase arrived in 2012, but after further research they developed a much deeper understanding of Pet Nat which they brought to the 2015 harvest, and the first official production of the "" Volumes "".

Niederosterreich

Niederösterreich, or Lower Austria, is the largest wine-producing region in Austria and one of the most significant in terms of quality and diversity. The region's wine history dates back to Roman times, and it remains a cornerstone of Austrian viticulture. Niederösterreich is known for its varied terroirs, influenced by the Danube River and the surrounding Alps, which create ideal conditions for viticulture.

It is particularly renowned for its white wines, with Grüner Veltliner being the flagship grape. This variety thrives in Niederösterreich, producing wines that range from crisp and peppery to rich and complex. Other notable white varieties include Riesling, which flourishes in the steep vineyards along the Danube, and Sauvignon Blanc. While white wines dominate, Niederösterreich also produces elegant reds, with Zweigelt and Pinot Noir being the most prominent. The region’s diverse microclimates and soil types contribute to its reputation for producing some of Austria’s finest wines.
