Description

Suggested with fish soups and chargrilled seafood or served with risottos and baked vegetables.

Pinot Grigio is certainly one of the most famous grape varieties in the world, it has found ideal conditions in which to express itself in the Venezia Giulia region in North East Italy. Sodevo is vinified exclusively in stainless steel tanks to preserve its varietal characteristics, integrating its elegant and refined aromatic profile with a tangy and minerally taste that make it versatile in food pairings.

The destemmed grapes are soft crushed and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine remains on the lees for approximately 5 months before being bottled. The bouquet is intense and well-orchestrated with noticeable fruity overtones. On the palate the wine is well-rounded and minerally with an appealing flavour of golden apples, citrus fruit and white flowers ending with a very lively finish. This really is a stand out pinot grigio from one of the best producers and production areas.

"Bright and simple, this wine delivers the goods. The Zuani 2023 Friuli Pinot Grigio Sodevo is made in stainless steel only with expressive fruit from marl and sandstone soils. Floral notes peel off first with orange blossom and yellow rose. There is a hint of sweetness to close, but the wine ends on a rather snappy, dry note. Production is 30,000 bottles."
90 points. Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate (August 2024)

Zuani Wine

Zuani winery embodies the Felluga family winemaking heritage and expresses the challenge that Patrizia Felluga and her son, and daughter, Antonio and Caterina, have taken up to make only wines that are genuinely typical of the region and this territory. The vineyards are located in the heart of Collio on the hills surrounding the winery. Everything hinges on one exceptionally well-aspected “cru”, or vineyard, on a gentle hillside where vines and gardens surround the Zuani cellar.
