Bordeaux Wine Month

Kicking off Bordeaux Wine Month:

Next Friday 3rd September, we'll have Bordeaux wine expert and Highbury Vintners favourite Simon Hore in-store to taste through four wines and celebrate the start of Bordeaux Wine Month. We will be opening the following:

2019 Château Haut Rian, Bordeaux Blanc - £12.50
The Château's flagship wine is a blend of 60% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. A crisp and refreshing style of Bordeaux Blanc; juicy fruit flavours, with a long, dry finish, and a hint of minerality.

2017 Château Siran Saint-Jacques de Siran, Bordeaux Supérieur - £16.50
Sourced from vines on the border with Margaux, and as such classified as AOC Bordeaux Supérieur. A poor man’s Margaux and a great bargain, it's a perfect wine to drink once whilst the Château Siran (below) is maturing!

2014 Château Siaurac, Lalande-de-Pomerol - £27.00
Château Siaurac has an impressive 46 hectares of vineyards, all in a single continuous plot situated on the plateau of Néac, an extension of the famous plateau of Pomerol. "Plenty of cassis on the palate and refined, dry super-fine tannins. Both scented and elegant with some graphite stoniness on the finish. Long too. Well done!" Jancis Robinson MW.

2017 Château Siran, Margaux - £44.00
Siran is a little gem in Margaux with 25 hectares under vine and an average age of 30 years. Notes of sweet cassis, liquorice and smoke on the nose. Elegant on the palate, with smooth refined tannins, well-balanced structure and a never-ending finish. Drink now to 2030.
