Description

Tamesis is a collaboration between Blackbook and Forty Hall, London's only certified organic vineyard, and the first wine to be both grown and made in London in modern times -- first released with the 2018 vintage. Fermented with natural yeasts across old French oak and stainless steel, with naturally occurring malolactic fermentation and seven months on gross lees. Unfined and unfiltered. The result is a wine that speaks clearly of the variety: elderflower, white peach, and white pepper, with hints of sweet spice and tropical fruit.

London

The London region in England, though not traditionally known for winemaking, is gaining recognition for its urban wineries and innovative approaches to viticulture. Benefiting from a temperate maritime climate, London's wineries often source high-quality grapes from established vineyards in other parts of England, such as Sussex and Kent. The area is particularly noted for producing excellent sparkling wines using the traditional method, as well as a variety of still wines including crisp whites, rosés, and light reds. London's urban wineries offer a unique wine experience, blending metropolitan sophistication with traditional winemaking techniques. As the wine scene continues to grow, the London region is becoming a vibrant hub for wine enthusiasts seeking unique and locally-produced wines.
