With its history in apothecary Peychaud's bitters have a strong authentic flavour which was originally dispensed as a medicinal tonic. Of course, the signature cocktail with Peychaud's is the sazerac but the subtle yet spicy flavour makes it a great choice for a wide range of cocktails from old fashioned to whiskey sours and the overriding flavour in each sip is aromatic cloves. Sazerac - Peychaud

Antoine Amédée Peychaud, a Creole apothecary who arrived in New Orleans from the former French colony of San Domingo (now Haiti), began crafting his signature bitters around 1832 in the French Quarter. Originally used to enhance medicinal elixirs, his aromatic blend of distilled spirits and botanicals quickly gained popularity. Today, Peychaud’s Bitters remain essential to the classic Sazerac cocktail and are a staple in any well-curated bar.
