Tasting note

Charming with vibrant aromas of red fruits and subtle spicy notes, complemented by vanilla and caramel from the oak barrique aging. Perfectly balanced. Fine and elegant with soft tannins and a long finish. This well structured Pinot has ample potential to mature. A handcrafted wine that showcases the varietal perfectly.

Young winemaker Andreas Bender has sites across the heart of the Mosel Valley. Having lived and worked in the region all his life he knows each area well, and which sites are likely to thrive each vintage. His method is distinctive in the world of German wine: instead of following the familiar model whereby top single vineyards are vinified and bottled separately, he blends his vineyards to achieve three different styles. On good years the best cuvées, from single vineyard sites with the most concentrated fruit are bottled as his black label ‘Zenit’.
