Description

A thrilling new vintage from the Bodega Jesus Romero and the big brother to the delightful Jesus Romero Rubus. This wine is made in even smaller quantities, roughly 300 cases this year and is a richer more brooding prospect. Built upon a blend of Garnacha (60%) and Syrah (40%) the wine has increased complexity and structure due to ageing in French oak for 5 months. Rubus wine is not clarified, not stabilised and not filtered.

Medium to full-bodied. Cherry red in colour, alive and deep. Intense aromas, hints of spicy and balsamic tones with a very fresh fruit. Tasty and round in the mouth, with intense concentration of fruit and toasted tones that leave a persistent and balanced memory. Red and black fruit mingle with supple tannin and a brisk lick of acidity make it a beautiful partner to autumnal stews and casseroles.

Bodega Jesus Romero

Bodegas Rubus was born from the hope and effort from Jesús Romero and Juan Vicente Alcañiz to recover winegrowing activity in the Gudar-Javalambre area of Teruel, where winemaking has been common among its people but had been abandoned. They produce wines with a unique and unrepeatable character due to their characteristic high-altitude area (1000m above sea level) and the rigors of their climate.

Aragon

Aragón, located in northeastern Spain, is a significant wine region known for its diverse terroirs and distinctive wines. The region benefits from a continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters, which influences the character of its wines.
The region is renowned for its robust reds, particularly from the Garnacha (Grenache) and Tempranillo varieties, which produce wines with rich fruit flavours, depth, and good aging potential. It produces notable whites from the Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes, known for their freshness, citrus notes, and balanced acidity.
