An intriguing white blend from La Negly's limestone-clay and sandy sandstone terroirs in La Clape, the La Falaise Blanc 2024 brings together Chardonnay, Grenache Gris, Sauvignon Gris and Petit Manseng in a wine that is at once aromatic and genuinely substantial. The nose is distinctive and inviting, led by pistachio, almond and lychee with a tropical undercurrent of melon and pineapple. Fermented and aged for six months in 600-litre demi-muids with regular batonnage, the palate is rich and rounded with real weight and texture, yet the Petit Manseng keeps everything honest, pulling the finish into shape with a bright lime-edged crispness that prevents the wine from ever feeling heavy. A serious white from the south that would hold its own against aged cheeses or anything with some richness to it.
