Tasting note

There is an unmistakable scent of mint, evoking the herbs that grow wild around the vineyards. Even the nearby sea seems to have left its mark in the appetising, lightly salty finish. This is a very complete rose wine, notable for its harmony, freshness and sheer drinkability. Assured, understated and refined, a highly accomplished Provence rose wine.

Producer

Chateau Leoube

Château Léoube was built at the end of the 14th century in Provence, a region which is home to some of the oldest vineyards in France. In 1997 the Bamford family purchased the estate and used their agricultural knowledge to care for the soils on the estate. They then renovated the cellar, Château and historic gardens. In 2000 the first vintage was launched, and 2016 saw the first vintage of the Love by Léoube rosé.

Region

Provence

Provence, located in southeastern France, is celebrated for its picturesque landscapes and exceptional wines, particularly rosés. The Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters, is ideal for viticulture. Provence rosés, made from grape varieties such as Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre, are renowned for their pale colour, crisp acidity, and delicate flavours of red berries and citrus. The area also produces robust reds and aromatic whites. Provence’s diverse terroir, combined with traditional winemaking techniques, results in wines that reflect the beauty and richness of the region. It is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts seeking elegant and refreshing wines.
