The nose is intense and mineral-driven, layering cassis, dark cherry and graphite with violet-like florals and a inky, almost calligraphic darkness that speaks of the estate's remarkable blue clay subsoil and well-drained Garonne gravels. On the palate it is focused and tightly coiled, with a fine-grained, powerful tannic structure that carries rich, pure dark fruit with exceptional precision and energy. There is nothing showy here, just the quiet confidence of a great site and a great vintage working in harmony.
